Responsibilities:
Ensure safety of swimmers in and out of the pool
Enforce all pool rules and regulations
Supervision of the pool facility
Daily swim instruction to campers between the ages of 4 and 15 with different ability levels
Work effectively with other lifeguards and take turns with various responsibilities
Complete Weekly progress reports for all campers
Serve as a positive role model to campers
Work with aquatics director, other camp directors ,and other team members to troubleshoot any issues with program, facilities, and campers
Follow the ESF Code and maintain the ESF Look at all times
Have Fun
Qualifications
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid Certification
Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
18 years of age or older
Previous lifeguarding experience preferred
Previous experience teaching swim lessons preferred
Positive attitude
Patient, caring and creative
Strong communication skills
Excellent judgment and problem solving skills
Flexible, adaptive and a Team player
Desire to make a difference in the life of a child
Physical Requirements
Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35lbs
Endurance to work outside and on your feet for 6-8 hours per day
Ability to respond to emergency situations which may require running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and climbing stairs.
