Resort Jobs
For those interested in entering the hospitality industry, working at a resort is a great opportunity. For those without a great deal of experience, it might be a bit more difficult to get a higher position at resorts, though, especially established ones. Jobs that put workers in direct contact with the clientele often make more in tips, which means that older and more established workers are likely to get the ideal shifts. However, for those who need the experience and are interested in a chance to perfect serving skills, working at a resort is a great way to make some extra cash. Better yet, the idyllic setting certainly beats getting stuck in a poorly-lit shop at the mall jobs dealing with screaming customers.Many resorts hire in bulk right before the start of the season, so be sure to do research and figure out when the best time to apply might be. Even a couple of weeks of hesitation might mean that all positions have already been filled, so don't hesitate if you hear that someone is hiring. Likewise, a recommendation to join the team at a resort is often the helping hand that can really make a difference. If friends are in good standing with the bosses and planning on returning for another season, ask for a recommendation. It might make the difference in getting an interview and having your resume put aside.
